Summary

In March 2001, several military personnel in Anápolis (GO) sighted a bright object hovering in the sky. The air defense pilot was alerted by air traffic control and prepared to investigate. According to his account, he spotted a luminous point about 20 nm away, but lost visual contact when focusing on the instruments. The OPO confirmed the object's presence on the radar screen, but could not identify its shape due to its intense brightness and distance. The tower operator also observed it, describing it as something similar to a star that did not move and alternated between silver and pink tones. After the jet took off, the object disappeared, generating multiple theories about its nature.

The incident was documented by several witnesses, including a rescue pilot who saw it vanish as the aircraft approached. Despite multiple observations, there was no clear explanation for the phenomenon. Records indicate the object was seen for several minutes, remaining stationary in a sector of the sky later covered by clouds. Coordination between air traffic control units and alert pilots failed to identify the object, adding mystery to this unresolved case.
