In May 1988, multiple witnesses in Pamplona and Burlada (Navarra) reported an unusual aerial phenomenon described as a bright, oval-shaped object slowly rotating in the sky. The most detailed account came from a group who observed the event for about 20 minutes. The description aligned with previous sightings in the area, including one from 1980. The UFO Research Center in Burlada contacted military authorities to inquire about possible radar contact with the object, but no such records were found. The official response from the Air Force was clear: no strange objects had been detected on radar screens.
The file was reviewed in 1996 and concluded that there were no elements justifying its classification as a secret document. Therefore, it was declassified. Although no technical evidence of the object was found, the collective testimony and detailed description remain interesting from a historical and ufological perspective. This case reflects the methodology used by the armed forces to handle sighting reports, prioritizing objective data over visual accounts.
