🇧🇷 Fuerza Aérea (Operação Prato)
On the early morning of October 17, 2008, three observers in Santarém, Brazil, reported an unusual aerial phenomenon. A red spherical object was seen moving at high speed along a northwest to northeast trajectory. The pilot of a Gol Airlines flight also confirmed the sighting, adding credibility to the account. The event lasted between 45 and 60 seconds, and although no physical evidence was recorded, the testimony of three individuals, including a military officer, generated interest among Brazilian authorities.
The report, classified as confidential, was reviewed by the COMDABRA, Brazil's aerospace defense command. No conventional explanations, such as meteors or aircraft, were found. The document did not reach a definitive conclusion. The object left a trail similar to a falling star, initially suggesting a meteorite. However, its controlled movement and the pilot's confirmation raised doubts. The case remains officially unresolved.
