A Brazilian report describes the observation of an unidentified object with a star-like shape, blue and red in color, moving in a zigzag pattern at high altitude. The sighting occurred on July 19, 2009, near the coast in Lagoa de Cacara, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The witness, Josiane Moura da Rocha, a geographer with technical meteorological knowledge, saw the object under perfect visibility conditions (CAVOK). The object moved both slowly and quickly, without leaving a trail or emitting sound, and was observed for one and a half hours. Although initially it could be mistaken for stars, its unusual behavior drew attention.
The report was communicated to the Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command more than 10 hours after the sighting. The officer in charge was First Lieutenant Antonio Maerton de Medeiros Lopes. There were no physical records or images, and the witness had no prior experience with UFO phenomena. The report notes there were no electrical outages or accompanying phenomena. Despite the detailed description, the case remains unexplained.
