In 1969, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) investigated a report of two unidentified flying objects (UFOs) observed in Belo Horizonte. Known as SIOANI 030, the case originated when a real estate agent, José Penido de Moraes, reported seeing two luminous objects in the early morning of December 25, 1963. According to his testimony, the objects were the size of a soccer ball, flying at high speed and emitting an intense light that varied between blue, silver, and orange. Moraes described the objects as moving in parallel formation, performing rapid maneuvers and occasionally forming a "V" shape with lateral and vertical movements.
The FAB sent Lieutenant Sylwio Machado Victorino to investigate the case. The report included testimonies, detailed descriptions of the observer, and an analysis of the environmental and surrounding conditions. Moraes, a 44-year-old man with an apparently stable life, stated he had no psychological issues or interest in supernatural phenomena. The report concluded there was no evidence of mental disorders or manipulation of the observation, although no conventional explanation was found for the objects seen. The case was considered noteworthy, but no definitive conclusion was reached about its nature.
