🇧🇷 Fuerza Aérea (Operação Prato)
In June 1969, a group of Brazilian researchers and ufologists traveled to the region of Pedro Leopoldo, Minas Gerais, after receiving reports of recurring sightings of an unidentified object. Equipped with a 16 mm camera and AGFA 100 ASA black-and-white film, they arrived with the intention of visually recording any suspicious activity. The previous nights had seen reports of "rasteiro" sightings—descriptions of objects moving close to the ground. During the early hours of June 9, the group observed several luminous objects moving slowly in opposite directions, with glows similar to stars. Despite the cold conditions and limited equipment, they managed to capture images later developed by a trusted technician.
The witnesses, including an Air Force officer and several civilians, agreed on their descriptions: reddish-colored objects moving horizontally at unusual speeds. The sky was clear, allowing uninterrupted observation. The film showed no traces of known celestial bodies, reinforcing the hypothesis of non-conventional phenomena. This case, documented by the Grupo Ufológico de Guarujá, became one of the most detailed records of the time in Brazil and remains a subject of study in ufological circles.
