🇧🇷 Fuerza Aérea (Operação Prato)
In 1958, during the Almirante Saldanha expedition near the island of Trindade, an unidentified flying object (UFO) sighting sparked significant controversy. A Navy telegrapher sergeant, Miriam Barauna, captured photographs of the object, which were observed by multiple crew members. The images, analyzed and declared genuine, depicted a circular, glowing object surrounded by a greenish halo. Despite investigations, the phenomenon remained unexplained, and the official file was never fully disclosed. This case became one of the most famous in Brazilian UFO history, even drawing attention from then-president Juscelino Kubitschek. Decades later, in 1976, efforts were made to revisit the case, seeking further insight into this enduring mystery.
