In 1968, a Brazilian farmer named Luiz Nitolo reported a UFO encounter at Chacara Emmes near Bauru. While checking an electrical outage, he observed an intense and diffuse light near the trees. Approaching it, he saw a circular object with red and blue lights that suddenly disappeared. The story gained credibility due to Nitolo's reputation as a serious and responsible person.

The case was officially recorded by the Brazilian Ministry of Aeronautics, including details such as weather conditions and witness descriptions.
