🇧🇷 Fuerza Aérea (Operação Prato)
In 1996, three teenagers from Varginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil, claimed to have seen a strange creature during a storm. This news sparked public interest and was picked up by ufologist Vítorio Pacaccini and researcher Mars Portes, who published a book titled *Incident in Varginha*. In it, they described an alleged capture of extraterrestrials by the Brazilian armed forces, including the Army, Military Police, and Fire Corps. The book named several officers and soldiers as if they had participated in a secret operation, which caused controversy and accusations of defamation.
The Military Public Prosecutor opened an investigation to determine whether the book contained false information that could damage the reputation of the military institutions. After a detailed analysis, it was concluded that the claims were speculative and not based on real facts. There was no evidence that the armed forces had been involved in an alien capture operation, and it was determined that the case lacked criminal elements. Finally, the case was archived, considering there were no signs of a crime and the accusations were the result of a fanciful interpretation of everyday events.
