🇦🇷 Fuerza Aérea — CIAE
This document presents the 2020 report from the Argentine Air Force's Center for Aerospace Identification (CIAE) on 76 UFO sightings. While all cases were resolved, they are highlighted as valuable testimonies that helped refine investigative methods. Cases are classified as Type A (definitively explained) and Type B (plausibly explained), following criteria similar to France's GEIPAN group. The report combines technical, astronomical, and optical analysis to identify objects as insects, aircraft, satellites, or natural phenomena. Despite the explanations, the testimonies reflect genuine curiosity about the unknown, keeping the discussion on aerospace phenomena alive.
The CIAE's approach is rigorous and transparent, prioritizing objectivity and science. Although most cases turned out to be explainable, the methodology reflects an effort to not dismiss any possibility without solid evidence. The report includes specific cases, such as an insect captured in an image, landing lights of an aircraft, or the passage of the International Space Station. Each case is analyzed using tools like Stellarium, Flightradar24, and angular measurements, showing how what seems extraordinary can have an ordinary explanation. The CIAE invites the public to contribute information and to question any sighting with rigor.
