A recent witness recalled an unusual aerial phenomenon observed in 1937 in the east of Martinique. According to his testimony, around 6 p.m., he saw a glowing globe moving slowly from west to east, illuminated by the setting sun. The object appeared larger than the Moon, suggesting it was either very large or relatively close. The phenomenon gradually disappeared at the horizon, and the observation lasted nearly a minute. Despite the detailed description, no other witnesses or additional evidence have been found.
The GEIPAN, the French organization responsible for investigating unidentified aerial phenomena, classified this case as "C," indicating that there is insufficient information for a more precise evaluation. The testimony was given decades after the event, in 1979, and the witness could not recall the exact day or month it occurred. This lack of precise data limits the possibility of verifying the case with other contemporary records or witnesses.
