Summary

In late September 1954, three children aged 5 to 10 were walking to school along national road 13 near Figeac (Lot) when they saw a short figure that fired a weapon, startling them. The older children had noticed a box in a nearby field shortly before. According to their accounts, the box rose and flew away on two separate occasions — a detail that caused confusion among the testimonies themselves.

The teacher alerted the gendarmerie, which interviewed the children the next day without finding physical traces or additional witnesses. Although all three agreed the object rose into the air, inconsistencies in the details and the inability to corroborate the events led GEIPAN to classify the case as C. The nature of both the object and the figure remain unexplained.
