Summary

On December 17, 1957, four military personnel at the Cognac air base detected a radar echo at 15:01. The object appeared at 40 km and disappeared at 16 km, remaining visible for 30 seconds. This indicates a speed of 2 880 km/h. On the same day, but at 15:45, another echo was recorded at 37 km and disappeared at 25 km, observed for 15 seconds, also corresponding to 2 880 km/h. Although there was no visual observation, the witnesses wrote a report with sketches. The GEIPAN classified this case as C due to lack of visual information.
