Alleged landed object on a railway in La Londe (1960)

Summary

In November 1960, two people in La Londe, Seine-Maritime, saw green, orange, and red lights in the sky. A week later, one of the witnesses noticed a green glow in his room and went outside to investigate. About 150 metres away he found a circular object several metres across resting on an abandoned railway track. It was silent and displayed intermittent lights. After roughly twenty minutes it lifted off silently toward the southwest. The witness told a local journalist, but gendarmes found no evidence at the site.

During the investigation, residents and railway employees were interviewed, but no one confirmed the object's presence. Local authorities questioned the witness's credibility. With no supporting testimony or physical evidence, GEIPAN classified the case as probably a hoax.
