In November 1960, two people in La Londe (Seine-Maritime) observed green, orange, and red lights in the sky. A week later, one of the witnesses noticed a green light in his room and went outside to investigate. At 150 meters away, he saw a circular craft of several meters in diameter landed on an abandoned railway track. The craft was silent and emitted flashing lights. After about 20 minutes, it took off silently toward the southwest. The witness reported the event to a local journalist, but the gendarmerie found no evidence at the site.
During the investigation, several residents and SNCF employees were interviewed, but no one confirmed the presence of the object. Local authorities questioned the credibility of the witness, who was well known to them. Without additional testimony, the GEIPAN classified the case as likely a hoax.
