Summary

In July 1965, multiple witnesses in Blois observed a bright triangular object in the sky. The object, appearing metallic, remained stationary and intensely reflected sunlight. Although the report was made recently, the event occurred in the afternoon of July 23. Investigators classified it as case B, suggesting it could be a stratospheric balloon. These balloons, due to their high altitude, can reflect sunlight even after sunset, which explains the object's brightness and apparent stillness.

The data align with the typical characteristics of a stratospheric balloon. Additionally, the calculated altitude is consistent with this type of device. Although Venus was visible that night, witnesses did not mention it, perhaps because it was further west and lower than the observed object. This lack of mention of Venus adds interest to the case, though it does not invalidate the balloon hypothesis. The GEIPAN concludes it is a probable observation of a stratospheric balloon.
