Summary

In March 1960, several witnesses in Sweden reported unidentified flying objects that defied conventional explanations. A pilot at Sundsvall Airport reported a luminous object moving in a northeasterly direction, while an astronomical observatory in Saltsjöbaden also confirmed the presence of an unusual light. These accounts coincided with photographs taken by photographer Esse Jansson, who captured two objects moving strangely before vanishing. The confusion grew when another resident, Thorsten Haskansson, described a satellite moving unpredictably, even falling vertically from the sky. Although experts considered the possibility of it being a satellite or an optical illusion, the descriptions and images kept raising questions.

The reports from that month were not isolated. In the following days, more similar sightings were recorded in the Stockholm area, including lights moving in unpredictable directions. Despite efforts to identify these objects, no clear explanation was found. The coincidence of multiple witnesses, from pilots to amateur astronomers, added credibility to the accounts. The photographs and testimonies, though incomplete, represent a curious case of how unexplained aerial phenomena captured public and scientific attention during an era of technological advances and space mysteries.
