Elongated silent red object over Valbonnais

Summary

In January 1976, a witness in Valbonnais observed through binoculars an elongated red object moving silently. The sighting recurred on January 15 at the same time. The gendarmerie recorded similar observations on the 17th and 18th, describing a southwest-to-northwest trajectory. The characteristics match those of a transiting satellite, but there is not enough data to confirm this. The gradual disappearance and absence of noise do not fit conventional objects, and the case remains open.
