Silent object over the woods of Neuville-Saint-Vaast

Summary

In January 1976, a farmer in Neuville-Saint-Vaast spotted an unknown object moving slowly and silently over nearby woods from east to west. During the one-minute observation he switched on a powerful floodlight that lit up the surrounding plain. He went to fetch his son, but by the time they returned the object had vanished. The gendarmerie investigation turned up no additional witnesses or information.
