Summary

On the night of January 19, 1976, a resident of Aveyron watched a disc-shaped object roughly 2.50 metres across, glowing phosphorescent orange, for about three minutes. It appeared to rest on a paved road near a ridgeline, then moved at low altitude through the valley before disappearing behind a farmhouse — all in complete silence. Neither the witness nor his son found any marks at the site.

Two other people reported seeing a strange light on the road that night, but their accounts were brief and lacked detail. With no physical evidence and limited supporting testimony, GEIPAN classified the case as C.
