Brief red flash over Billom

Summary

At about 8:50 p.m. on February 17, 1976, a motorist in Billom saw a red luminous object moving rapidly from north to south at low altitude. The sighting lasted only a few seconds. No one else in the area reported anything unusual, and an imprecision in the recorded date further hampered analysis. GEIPAN classified the case as C for lack of information.
