Electrical failure and metallic cloud in Saint-Denis, Réunion

Summary

On the morning of March 27, 1976, a military officer driving in Saint-Denis, Réunion, experienced a sudden engine shutdown — all dashboard indicators went dark. About 15 to 20 metres away, near a river, he noticed a small greyish cloud with a metallic sheen. When he leaned out of the window, the object climbed rapidly south-southwest and vanished behind nearby buildings. The engine restarted without difficulty and no further anomalies occurred. No other witnesses or supporting data exist.
