Summary

In June 1976, a witness in the Lot-et-Garonne department watched a high-altitude oval luminous object for over an hour. It appeared to consist of two bright sections of unequal size joined together, drifting slowly from east to west. No one else reported it. Investigators concluded it was most likely a stratospheric balloon.
