Shining red UFO seen near Epinal

Summary

On July 10, 1976, a driver in the Vosges region of France noticed an unknown object at low altitude above the road. The witness described an object about 4 to 5 meters long and 1 meter in diameter, with a bright red color and a black stripe running along its body. According to the GEIPAN report, the object appeared to have a cabin on top with a flashing light. As the driver approached, the object moved backward as if trying to get closer, which frightened the witness and made them resume their journey. The gendarmerie collected no further information about the incident.
