On August 3, 1976, a farmer in the Vosges spotted a steadily gleaming silvery cylindrical object drifting slowly across the sky. He watched it for about 30 minutes before it disappeared over the horizon. During the investigation, several neighbors identified the object as an advertising balloon from a tire brand that had flown over the area multiple times that day. Although the farmer's account is consistent, his description does not fully match a conventional advertising balloon, leaving a residual degree of uncertainty.
