Summary

In December 1976, a witness in Valbonne observed a silent, luminous object moving east-northeast at a speed similar to a shooting star. The object had an oval shape and a silver color, and did not leave a luminous trail. The phenomenon was visible for a few seconds before disappearing behind the landscape. The next day, a soldier observed for 3 to 4 minutes an oval object moving north-south at high altitude, leaving a luminous trail. Although the two observations were different, researchers consider it likely that both witnesses saw atmospheric entries of unidentified objects.

These cases, recorded by the GEIPAN, are typical of UFO reports that are not classified as unexplained, but remain subjects of study due to their clear and detailed nature. The description of the objects and their behavior suggests they are not conventional aircraft or meteors. Despite the lack of conclusive evidence, these observations provide valuable data for better understanding unexplained aerial phenomena.
