Summary

On January 17, 1977, in the Eastern Pyrenees, a driver photographed a slowly moving oval cloud formation traveling from north to south. Two other people confirmed the sighting. The image clearly shows a lens-shaped cloud consistent with a lenticular cloud, an atmospheric phenomenon typical of mountainous areas under specific wind conditions. Despite the curiosity aroused by its slow movement and distinctive shape, GEIPAN classified the case as category A, attributing it to an identified natural phenomenon. The photograph remains the key piece of documentation in the file.
