Silent rugby-ball-shaped object over Toulouse

In January 1977, a witness in Toulouse spotted a rugby-ball-shaped object at about 500 meters altitude. It moved at 100–150 km/h against the wind, completely silent despite its large size. The testimony did not reach GEIPAN until 2007, making thorough investigation difficult. A balloon was suggested but could not be confirmed. The case is classified as category C.
