In January 1977, a witness in Toulouse observed an object in the sky at about 500 meters altitude. The object was rugby ball-shaped, large, and moving at a speed of 100 to 150 km/h against the wind. Despite its size, no noise was heard. The testimony was given decades later, in 2007, making any serious investigation difficult. A weather balloon has been suggested as a possible explanation, but it cannot be confirmed. The case remains classified as "C" by the GEIPAN, indicating that a conventional explanation cannot be ruled out, although it cannot be confirmed either.
