🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
Around 10:30 PM on August 11, 1977, two people in Erstein (Bas-Rhin) saw a bright, stationary object in the sky. Through binoculars they made out spheres emitting yellow light at its base and a flashing red light reminiscent of a gyroscope. The object then drifted slowly and silently before vanishing. Gendarmes investigated after a local press article but found no additional witnesses. GEIPAN classified the case as B — no conventional explanation was confirmed, but none was ruled out either.
