Summary

On September 23, 1977, around midnight, a person walking their dog in Istres observed two circular craft in the sky for about a minute. One had a bright white underside and a darker top. The objects moved silently from northwest to southeast before turning and ascending rapidly. They disappeared without making any noise.

During the night, the control tower at Istres Air Base did not detect any unusual sounds. No other witnesses were found, and the case remains unexplained.
