Two silent circular objects over Istres

Close to midnight on September 23, 1977, a resident of Istres (Bouches-du-Rhône) saw two circular objects while walking his dog. One had a bright white underside and a darker top. They moved silently from northwest to southeast, then banked and climbed rapidly before vanishing. The sighting lasted about one minute. The control tower at Istres air base recorded no unusual sound that night. No other witnesses or confirmations emerged, and the case remains unexplained.
