On October 27, 1977, two people in Kourou observed a red fireball crossing the sky from east to west at high speed. The object left a red and orange trail that lasted only a few seconds. The phenomenon disappeared suddenly and silently. Investigators concluded that the witnesses likely saw an atmospheric entry event, such as a meteor or space debris. Classified as B by the GEIPAN, this case does not require further investigation due to the plausible explanation.
