Oval object with back-and-forth path over Nancy

Summary

On 24 November 1977 a witness in Nancy saw an oval object roughly the size of a rugby ball emitting a bright light. It headed east-north, reversed course along the same path, and disappeared behind the urban landscape — all within about thirty seconds and in complete silence. No other testimonies surfaced, and the Paris Observatory provided no additional data to clarify the phenomenon.
