Between 19 and 20 December 1977, witnesses in Pouancé (Maine-et-Loire) reported a luminous object on three separate occasions — at 10 p.m. on the 19th, then at 4 a.m. and again at 10 p.m. on the 20th. The object shifted between green, orange and red, moving with noticeable stops. Television interference was noted at the start of the evening, prompting a hypothesis that a communications satellite might be responsible, but insufficient data prevented confirmation. The case remains unexplained.
