🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In February 1978, several witnesses in New Caledonia observed a bright oval object moving rapidly across the sky. Known as case POYA (988), it was classified as "C" by the GEIPAN, indicating an incomplete observation with limited data. Although the event occurred on February 14, it was initially reported as happening on the 23rd, adding a layer of confusion. The object made no noise and left no visible trail, making it even more mysterious. Due to the lack of additional testimonies and concrete information, this case remains an unsolved mystery in French ufology.
