Luminous hemisphere near Le Vaudreuil

Summary

On the night of 2 April 1978, a driver and passenger near Le Vaudreuil noticed an intense yellow-orange light close to the ground on a hillside. When they stopped, they made out a large hemisphere partly hidden by trees. The object drifted silently from north to south for about 50 minutes, its brightness gradually fading until it vanished. No additional witnesses or physical evidence were recorded.
