Three red lights with a searchlight beam at Fontvieille

Summary

One night in April 1978, a motorist near Fontvieille saw three red luminous points moving slowly close to the ground. No clear shape was visible behind the lights at first, but one point descended to ground level and swept it with what looked like a searchlight, while the other two remained stationary. The witness also heard a faint humming sound. Local press later reported additional testimonies about the same phenomenon, which received no conventional explanation. GEIPAN classified the case as D, leaving it among the unresolved cases in the region.
