On August 6, 1978, two witnesses in Hérouville (Calvados) watched a very bright yellow light travel slowly across the sky from southeast to northwest for about 45 minutes. The object moved at a constant speed and high altitude before disappearing from view. No other witnesses came forward. Investigators concluded the most likely explanation was a satellite pass, as nothing about the sighting suggested an unexplained phenomenon.
