UFOs observed near Sète in 1978

Summary

On September 27, 1978, at 19:35, two bright stationary points were reported in the sky above Sète, in the Hérault department. A military officer confirmed the sighting and described a first cylindrical object with a conical and shiny front, and a second crescent-shaped object that appeared and disappeared. The station commander also verified the presence of both objects. At 20:20, the objects disappeared behind clouds. Although they were likely balloons, the detailed description suggests an unusual experience.

The accuracy of the witnesses and the confirmation by two different people add interest to the case. Despite the conventional explanation, the description of the shapes and the behavior of the objects do not easily fit known objects. This case, classified as B by the GEIPAN, remains an unresolved mystery.
