On October 15, 1978, several witnesses in the Tarn region observed an unusual aerial phenomenon. While driving near another vehicle, they saw two lights and a fixed red point above the trees. As they continued, they spotted an unidentified object with multiple lights, whose shape was not clearly discernible.
