Orange object and fireball in Casteljaloux, 1978

Summary

On October 23, 1978, a man and his visibly frightened dog spotted a round luminous object projecting an orange light over Casteljaloux (Lot-et-Garonne). For several minutes the object changed speed and direction without making any noise. At one point a fireball appeared to detach from it before the object vanished suddenly. The gendarmerie was unable to gather any additional testimony to corroborate the sole witness's account, preventing further classification of the case.
