On October 28, 1978, several witnesses in Mornant (France) observed a fireball crossing the sky from east to west. The object left a luminous trail and moved horizontally without making any noise. The phenomenon suddenly disappeared, leaving no trace. Although the witnesses heard no sound, the description matches an atmospheric entry of an object, possibly a meteorite. The case was classified as type B, indicating that a natural explanation was not ruled out, but the observation remains unusual.
