Violet ball near Mont Cimon in La Mure

Summary

Over three nights in November 1978—the 18th, 19th, and 21st—two witnesses in La Mure (Isère) observed a violet luminous ball near Mont Cimon. The object moved at varying speeds in complete silence. On one occasion, a witness watched it for three minutes before it vanished at high speed. GEIPAN classified the case as D, unable to find a conventional explanation for the repeated appearances.
