Summary

On January 19, 1979, two motorists in Beauvaisis (Oise) observed two intensely bright white points and a reddish-orange light from an unknown object. The phenomenon moved southeast without any noise, and there were no other witnesses. The investigation revealed that on the same day, between 17:30 and 19:00, a twin-engine aircraft carried out training maneuvers in the area, equipped with two powerful front headlights and performing turns over the mentioned zone. While the aeronautical explanation is plausible, the witnesses' description did not fully match what would be expected from a conventional aircraft.
