At 9:20 a.m. on February 6, 1979, a passerby in Nice watched a saucer-shaped object with blue and yellow lines at the rear for about two minutes. Briefly hidden by buildings, it reappeared as a denser, rounder light inside a luminous halo, stationary at roughly 20 degrees above the ground. With the sun very low on the horizon at that hour, investigators concluded it was most likely a solar reflection through clouds.
