Summary

In March 1979 two witnesses observed from their villa in Nice a large bluish-white sphere hovering about fifty meters above the ground for roughly thirty seconds before gradually fading. A violent thunderstorm was raging that night. The next day one of the witnesses visited the spot and found that lightning had struck near a power pole, pointing to a natural explanation linked to atmospheric electrical activity.
