In March 1979 a motorist in Haute-Garonne saw a luminous phenomenon that changed shape and color and seemed to follow him for ten kilometers, stopping and accelerating abruptly. At home he woke his wife, who also saw it, and took photographs. Investigation concluded it was the Moon seen through fog—an optical effect explaining the shape changes and the impression of pursuit. A 2008 review confirmed the positions of the Moon, Neptune, and Antares matched the testimony. Classified A.
