Summary

On March 22, 1979, a witness in Chef-du-Pont, Manche, saw a football-sized orange luminous ball at high altitude moving horizontally with rapid back-and-forth motions, then shifting vertically while emitting green reflections. The same phenomenon recurred the following day at the same time and place, yet no other witnesses reported it. Classified C by GEIPAN with no satisfactory explanation.
