In April 1979, two people in Courthezon (Vaucluse) observed three blinking white and red lights in the sky arranged in a triangle. On one occasion, one of these lights quickly approached the ground, appearing to come from a flat circular object about two meters in diameter. Despite the phenomenon lasting several minutes, the witnesses could not determine whether the object was resting on the ground or hovering above it, due to the intense light it emitted. After the experience, they felt a tingling in their eyes and went home frightened. The gendarmerie found no traces of the object or additional witnesses, leaving the case unresolved.
