Summary

Over two consecutive nights in May 1979, a motorist in Marne saw a crescent-shaped luminous object that appeared to follow his car in silence. On the second night, the object had turned white and seemed to move northeast. Investigators concluded it was the Moon, whose apparent motion relative to a moving vehicle is a well-documented perceptual effect. No evidence of anything out of the ordinary was found.
