Summary

On May 31, 1979, at 12:40 AM, two people observed a luminous phenomenon in the western sky. They saw a large, crescent-shaped object with an orange color for several minutes, accompanied by another temporary object. Although the sky map indicated the presence of Jupiter, Pollux, and the setting Moon, the witnesses insisted they were not observing a known celestial body. The GEIPAN classified the case as "A", indicating a report of particular interest.

The detailed description of the object and the precise location in the sky make this case especially intriguing. Despite the known astronomical conditions of the night, the observers found no conventional explanation for what they saw. This kind of testimony, while not conclusive, adds pieces to the puzzle of unidentified phenomena.
