Orange crescent over Gentilly

Summary

On the evening of 31 May 1979, two people in Gentilly saw an orange crescent-shaped object in the western sky, visible for several minutes. A second object appeared momentarily alongside it. Although Jupiter and the Moon were considered as possible explanations, the witnesses maintained that the phenomenon did not resemble any known celestial body. GEIPAN classified the case as A, deeming it a noteworthy observation for which no definitive explanation has been established.
