On the night of 30 June 1979, several motorists in Salon-de-Provence watched a stationary light begin moving toward them. They made out alternating red and green flashing lights and heard a breathing-like sound as the object passed overhead. At one point a triangular shape became visible before the phenomenon sped away southward. Despite these striking details, investigators concluded it was most likely an aircraft. GEIPAN classified the case as B.
